Everett Neukom Papers

Abstract

Neukom worked as a photographer for both the DELCO Corporation in Dayton and the Miami Conservancy District during the early part of the 20th century. His papers include family correspondence, clippings, personal memorabilia, pamphlets, and photographs relating to the 1913 Dayton flood.

Marianna McKnight Nixon was a lifelong Daytonian and descendant of several prominent families of the Dayton area, including the McKnights, Dovers, and Van Cleves. The Elizabeth Beck Rehling Papers consist of correspondence, research notes, and photographs related to her research on the relationship between her mother, Agnes Osborn Beck and Katharine Wright, sister of the Wright Brothers. It also includes her unpublished manuscript, The Third Wright Brother, about Katharine Wright, based on her memories as told to her by her mother Agnes and her own research.

Scope and Contents The collection contains a two-page letter typed by a World War I soldier returning by ship to the United States from Europe. The letter describes the conditions and activities aboard the transport ship U.S.S. Aeolus, on which he is travelling, as well as the writer’s duties while he is aboard.
